Welcome to CBCT training.com

Recent years have seen significant advances in Dental Cone-Beam CT and viewing software technology, accompanied in many cases by a dramatic reduction in patient dose and required investment cost. As a consequence, the use of 3D imaging in day-to-day dental practice continues to increase at a rapid pace with, it seams, new clinical benefits established with every new user.

Despite its growing popularity however, training to help Owners, Referrers, Practitioners and Operators get the most from their investment and deliver maximum clinial benefit to their patients, has been hard to come by. Just keeping pace with this rapidly evolving technology has proven quite a challenge for many.

So, as Dental Imaging Specialist with extensive experience in this field, HULBERT Dental ICT have joined forces with Carestream Dental, their principle supply partner for CBCT, to deliver a series of comprehensive training events focusing on the needs of all the team. Course content is largely driven by the training curriculum compiled by the British Society of Dental and Maxillofacial Radiology, as detailed in SedentexCT outcome document: HPA-CRCE-010 – ‘Guidance on the Safe Use of Dental CBCT Equipment’

The curriculum requirements fall into two key areas:

  • An extension to regular Medical Physics Core Radiography CPD - generally available from your Medical Physics RPA
  • Up to 6 hours theoretical and practical training on CBCT systems and 3D reporting software - this is where we come in

The guidelines suggest that attendance is deemed a regulatory requirement for all users of CBCT systems, including those who are simply referring patients for acquisition of a CBCT image.

But feedback from our research suggests there is a much wider need beyond the regulatory minimum, so through theoretical groundwork, case-study presentation and a practical hands-on workshop, our intensive one-day courses support many of the theoretical and practical aspects of the BSDMFR curriculum, whilst aiming to develop much greater confidence in the use of CBCT systems and associated reporting software.
